See a classic silent film comedy with a live cello soundtrack Sunday, March 9, 2025 at 2pm! As part of the Washington Center’s Silent Movie series, cellist Gideon Freudmann opens with a concert and then performs the live soundtrack to “Sherlock Jr.,” starring Buster Keaton as a movie projectionist who dreams of being a great detective. This brilliant film-within-a-film is clever, funny and timeless. Keaton’s physical antics as well as his cinematic storytelling genius are on full display. Freudmann’s imaginative, original cello with digital effects breathes new life into the 1924 movie masterpiece.
