WSU Thurston County Extension Master Gardeners will offer two free workshops Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Closed Loop Park Demonstration Garden in Hawks Prairie. The 9am workshop will focus on the basics of pruning various ornamental plants. learn the methods of pruning different plant types (trees, shrubs, and multi-stem plants), different pruning cuts (good and bad ones), and the steps of pruning. No need to bring any tools. The 11am “Garden of Weedin’” workshop will cover identification of common weeds & problem grasses, growth cycles and optimum pulling times, and an overview of common tools. Both workshops are free; no registration required.
